Vacation Mode
I have lost track of what day it is and I think that means my mind has switched into vacation mode. Definitely a good thing.

Day 3 - Rain, Rain Made Us Stay
I got no cool pictures today because my phone is not waterproof and it rained. Therefore, we went to the water park. Typhoon Lagoon had less than two dozen patrons. We did almost every slide, ride, wave and coaster in about three hours. It was so nice compared with being in the crowds. We also did take the boat to Downtown Disney. We wandered, people watched and had a fantastic dinner at Louis Fulton's Crab House.
It was marvelous to say the least. The sun set over Downtown Disney while we ate and enjoyed a leisurely boat ride back to the resort.

Day 2 - First Day in the Parks
Even though we went to bed rather late last night. I still managed to wake up only half an hour later than I typically do. It was an agonizing 90 minutes until the next person woke up. It was so hard to wait.
We had a leisurely breakfast at our resort and jumped on the bus to Hollywood Studios. We rode the Aerosmith Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. Had a fun early dinner at the Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre. Then we saw cute skits in the street and attended the American Idol Experience. Watching my children hoot, holler and dance was the highlight of the day. I got a great moment in the restaurant too when the waiter made my husband and I kiss while he took funny pictures of us.

Day One - The Journey to Disney
Have I mentioned that my children have never been on a plane before? Yesterday was their first time. I am not sure it was wise to take three first timers at the same time. It really could have been crazy. Instead it was just fun.
My youngest fist pumped his hands and shouted with glee, "We're flying!"
It was an awesome moment for him and for me.
When we were on the bus the resort he talked to me a mile a minute about all the transportation options we had sampled. He told me his journal for school was going to list them all. Car, plane, subway, bus. It was an exciting day.

Food Swap
Last Sunday, my children, my obliging husband and I attended our first ever food swap.
It rocked. We brought six jars of our homemade jam, syrup and pickles and got all sorts of other people's homemade goodies in return. What fun!
The lovely farmer who hosted the event gave each of us 30 eggs to take home as our parting gift.
This morning, my lovely daughter made eggs for my oldest son. And then we rushed out the door to a school event.
We had a lovely time. Just as we were leaving I realized I had not checked the kitchen before we left. Upon our return I spied my kitchen counter with 22 eggs left out and rapidly reaching room temperature.
I only make one recipe that requires room temperature eggs. Today was the day.
You see where this is going, right?
I'm taking homemade lemon curd to the next food swap. Talk about full circle.

The definition of love
First take a man. Ask him to get in a car at 5:45 am on a Saturday with three kids. Drive 100 miles. For breakfast he gets to eat at the restaurant he hates most in the world. Then place him in a public recreation area for seven hours. Sounds like love, huh?
One of the nicest things you can do for me is to show up when I run. Thanks honey.
And with that my third goal of the year was achieved. Yahoo! I had set three goals for myself this year. I wanted to compete in my first sprint triathlon in May, set a new personal best in August at the Providence Half Marathon and finish my first 26.2 on December 10 in the Roxbury Marathon.
It was a gorgeous course with some rugged hills. I enjoyed it so much. It was a peaceful day where I could just let my mind go. I was surprised at how well my body could keep up. It was a day I won't forget.
